About
Katie-Rose Cunin has been teaching ballet across Los Angeles since 2011, serving proudly on the faculties for pre-professional, collegiate-conservatory, recreational, and competitive programs as a teacher, coach, and choreographer. Her decade plus of coaching and choreographing (with a focus on classical variations), includes Youth America Grand Prix placements, guest- and convention-teaching, SME (subject matter expert) roles in curriculum design, and a specialty in private instruction for new-to-advanced dancers of all ages and goals, from athletes to celebrities, from influencers to actors, from burlesque dancers to Cannes award winners, most recently coaching performers and choreographing on set for the upcoming feature film PRIMA. She is a proud working member of SAG-AFTRA, and her work as an actor includes FX’s Snowfall and ABC’s Scandal. She has amassed undergraduate work at both UCLA and Cal State LA on academic scholarships and has been featured by Men’s Health and Yahoo! News for her coaching of adult ballet dancers.
Born in San Francisco and raised in Sacramento, Katie-Rose achieved early success as the youngest principal dancer for the Folsom Lake Civic Ballet, going on to receive her professional ballet training in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles with Gelsey Kirkland, Alaine Haubert, Reid Olsen, David Howard, Summer Lee-Rhatigan, Deirdre Hawkins, and The Sacramento Ballet, performing works throughout her studies by Jiri Kylian and George Balanchine, with soloist roles in The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Giselle, and The Nutcracker. She is grateful every day for her rich and varied life - on screen, on stage, and most unwaveringly, in the studio. Off the clock, Katie-Rose enjoys a Stumptown pour over coffee, a humbling Lagree workout, and her perfect TV-watching cat, Emmy Rose.
Katie-Rose approaches all her work with the same intention - to answer how excellent ballet technique can best serve the lives, art, and health of those who seek it in a short-form world, moving the rigorous art form forward without compromise.

Private Lessons
Katie-Rose works every week of the year with aspiring dancers of all ages to supplement their regular training, as well as with young professionals (actors and dancers).
Private lesson rates in both North Hollywood and West Hollywood are inclusive of all room rental fees, and can be paid per-lesson or as a package.
Lessons range from 60-90 minutes, and most dancers choose once weekly sessions in conjunction with a group class held outside of private study to reinforce their technique.
Katie Rose teaches private clients primarily on Wednesdays. If you are interested in private coaching and training, reach out via email for information regarding lesson locations and rates.
And congratulations on your interest in ballet, whether new or returning!
